The hotel is located in the Sorian region (Castilla y León)
of Covaleda, in the Picos
de Urbión mountain range. It was built 1,214
metres above sea level and only 10 kms. away from the source
of River Duero, framed by a
wonderful view of hills, valleys and paths, allowing guests
to embark on walks along the mountain tracks and practice
open air sports.
The locality is barely 30 minutes
from Soria, exactly 52 km away from the capital.

Near the Cuerda del Pozo reservoir,
Soria’s ”fresh water sea,” there are wonderful
spots such as Playa Pita, las Cabañas and the ruins
of the village of la Muedra, submerged under water.
Visitors who reach these lands, immersed in this pine tree
region, will be lucky enough to discover one of the most charming
locations in the province: La Laguna
Negra (The Black Lagoon). The Laguna Negra captivates
and enchants all visitors who view it for the first time,
standing at 2,000 m. above sea level and surrounded by enormous
pine tree forests. Visitors fall under the charm of the dark,
fascinating and enigmatic air its waters give off. The view
is even more beautiful in the winter, when the Lagoon is covered
in snow. “You have to experience
it to feel it”.
Yet the Laguna Negra is not the only suggestive location
in our region, other marvellous outings include the Cuyacabras
Necropolis, the stunning source
of river Duero, and lest we forget, the dawns one can
contemplate from the high peaks of Urbión
(2,226 m.), la Risca (1,046
m.), Peña Negra (2,017
m.). No visitor should leave the region without a trip to
the medieval city of Calatañazor
and the stunning Cañón
del Rio Lobos (River Lobos Canyon).
Discovering ghost towns on
foot or by mountain
bike, taking the worn-out paths that lead to mountain
tops offering indescribable panoramic views, crossing through
forests to find oneself surprised
by deer, roe deer, wild boars or even to just
breath in some of this fresh air, make one feel different
when immersed in these lands. |
